They are loud, explosive, and in your face. They speak the truth and fight the injustice of our modern society. Sounds like an old school punk band you might say. However, the Nerv is more than “just a punk band.” Anyone who has ever seen one of their live shows understands.
They played a raw and volatile set at El Rio last Saturday. They dished them out one after one blending songs from their previous two releases with new songs. The set began with “Marina Folks” from the band’s limited edition vinyl “Now Crisis.” By the second song, singer Nis Anthrope jumped off the stage making the audience willing participants of her performance.
The tone was rather somber but the songs were captivating.
